Here is our current list of available coins.
every day, coins from all over the world find their way into our donation boxes, which makes us very happy! Many of these coins are of small denomination. However, all of them have to be sorted and counted by hand before being taken to the bank – which then charges a fee for depositing them...
As we know that the banks charge again when they return the coins, we came up with the idea of simply skipping this ‘intermediate step’.
Instead, we would now like to use this method to return these coins to their countries of circulation (or make them available to numismatists) and, at the same time, generate donations equivalent to their value, which we will then – in accordance with our statutes – use in full for the benefit of the German Museum of Technology in Berlin.
If you are planning to travel to one of the countries listed here with currently valid coins, please contact us so that we can – where possible – exchange your euros for foreign coins.
You can reach us by email at muenzen@fdtm.de. All coins are held by us in Berlin (Germany).
If you (e.g. as a retailer) require 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20-cent euro coins, please do not hesitate to contact us!
We are also happy to part with individual collector’s items in return for a reasonable donation.
